COMEL - An engineering firm
COMEL has been engaged in professional sales of electrotechnical and industrial automation equipment and components business for more than 30 years. Inventors of their own automation systems, machine manufacturers, maintenance specialists, electrical switchgear manufacturer's purchasing managers, anyone who needs a reliable supply of elements in its business will appreciate the benefits of cooperation with us. This truth is familiar to our current customers, who save time and money entrusting us with seaking a solution to some of their technical and logistical challenges. If necessary, we import products from all continents, or send them to the remotest parts of the world.
Engineering services that we offer, are not limited to the right choice of equipment according to the needs of our client, or to the preparation of a proposal for the material list on the basis of the electrical circuit diagram or a description of the functional operation of an application. Our engineers can also help you configure and commission an inverter drive or a system of protection and supervision in an engine room. They can also manage a comprehensive preparation and implementation of industrial automation projects - from a general concept, through design, switchboard manufacture, to the installation and on-site commissioning.
We manufacture our own products since 1993. They are well known in the shipyards and ports - COMEL brand converters 50/60Hz supplying power from shore to ships. We helped the US based Delphi corporation to supply 60Hz power for their production line that was imported from across the ocean, from a factory in Canada. We have designed and delivered a solution for power supply and battery charging for submarines. We also manufacture power converters for research and education. More and more Polish companies report demand for 60Hz power for the performance testing of their products for export to the US market.
In its research and development efforts COMEL basically focuses on preparing the concept and manufacture of its own products. Since the year 2012, as part of a specially formed scientific consortium with the Maritime Academy in Gdynia, we conduct research related to the field of the electric power quality improvement . Together we have completed a research project entitled "Serial Active Power Filter for Integration with a Diode Rectifier" co-funded by National Centre for Research and Development (NCBiR), and now we work on applying the obtained results in practice.
